Better Your Community With 100 In 1 Day

100 In 1 Day is changing how people connect with their communities, and each other. This global movement returns to Vancouver on June 4, 2016 with a city-wide festival of civic engagement. As the name suggests, 100 ideas for community building will become reality in one single day, from social events, street art, urban gardens, and beautification projects, to improvements in city infrastructure. These interventions will all be put into action across Metro Vancouver by participating local intervention leaders and their teams.

Imagine what can be accomplished with hundreds of Vancouverites generating their best ideas to improve the city. Leading up to the day, there will be free roundtables and workshops to develop your 100 in 1 Day interventions – from idea to execution. Come be inspired and share your ideas to make your community a better place.

Started in Bogotá, Colombia in 2012, 100 In 1 Day was born through the efforts of a small group of students who intended to initiate six urban interventions to benefit their city. They quickly decided six was not enough and aimed for 100 — all to take place in the same day. The very first 100 In 1 Day event was on May 25, 2012, and saw over 250 interventions completed. Since then, the idea has caught on internationally, growing with each year.

It’s not too late to join the movement! 100 In 1 Day is accepting submissions for interventions until the day before the festival, June 3, at 5pm. To get involved, submit your intervention, attend a workshop, and help spread the word!
